How can i adjust the Android OS sound volume

I am testing native Android App using Java .

As a part of my testing i would like to control the Android's volume bar to adjust it's signal strength .

I did not find a good source for this issue ...

Is there a Librery to use? or can i do it using adb ?
or any other way doing that?
