ios webkit debug proxy log:

------ Just after the apple.com site is launched, ios webkit debug proxy logs that it's disconnected from the ipad., and it connects again, and again just after apple.com is launched, it disconnects again.

Software Versions being used:
Mac OSX 10.10.3 (Is the mac version an issue, earlier it had it working successfully on OSX 10.9.5)
Xcode 6.4
Safari Launcher https://github.com/budhash/SafariLauncher
Appium 1.4.11
ios webkit debug proxy (using .js file in appium tag v1.4.11 clone)
ipad2 (ios 8.4.1)

Enable UI automation option is enabled in Developer section in settings on the ipad
Web inspector is enabled on the ipad as well as on the mac

Does appium have support for ios 8.4.1?

Could you be looking at an actual app crash here? That would kill the appium process right quick.

Thanks wreed for responding.
The app being used is Safari Launcher, and that's not crashing, as i can see the apple.com website getting launched in it, and even when iosdebug proxy gets disconnected from the ipad, the safari browser is still there, it doesn't get crashed.

It did work for us, but with ios 8.4
And also, with a different safari launcher.More details to follow.

I'm seeing this behaviour too, on Appium 1.4.16 with SafariLauncher on iOS9.1. Tests normally proceed fine, but perhaps 5-10% of the time I see:

@AmitSharma, you said more details to follow, any suggestions?

Edit: Looking on the device itself, Safari loads fine, goes to the URL, and doesn't appear to crash.

I'm seeing this issue as well on Appium 1.4.16 with my company app on iOS8.4.1. When I start clicking on elements, eventually the target application just dies. Only occurs when Automating, cannot make it happen in manual testing, so must be related to Appium bug?

I am also seeing this issue. I am seeing following message on appium console.

Hi,
I am testing iOS app on real device (iPad mini) and i am getting this same issue after clicking an element application gets crashed/closed. Even if i try launching the app through appium and clicking the element manually then also Application gets closed
Appium logs showing error : Fail: The target application appears to have died
Appium Version: 1.5.3
iSO version : 9.3.2
Tried on different iPad devices including ipad 2 and ipad mini but same issue occurs.
Please help me to resolve the issue ASAP
