Upgrading XCode to 9.1 and iOS Simulator to iOS 11.1 has slowing down Appium-java based tests drastically

Upgrading XCode to 9.1 and iOS Simulator to iOS 11.1 has slowing down Appium-java based tests drastically.

My set-up

Appium-ide: 1.2.7
Appium command-line: 1.7.1
IOS: macOS Sierra 10.12.6
XCode: 9.1(9B55)
iOS Simulator: iOS 11.1

Previously it was as below & tests were running with speed

XCode: 8.3
iOS Simulator: iOS 10.3

Even with real device also we are facing this issue with same set up.

This has been an issue since Apple moved from UIAutomation to Xcuitest. The slowness started from Appium 1.6 onwards.

Thanks for your input. Our tests were running pretty normal on XCUITest , Appium 2.7.x , iOS 10.3, XCode8.3.3 MacMini Sierra
From April -2017 till Nov-2017.

They became slower after we needed to upgrade to iOS 11.1 , XCode 9.x

Kindly suggest in this case.

You can do few things here to improve performance

if still there is slowness then file a bug

Yes. Tried all of it but its still running very slow & app is crashing. Whereas it runs all fine on older simulator 10.3.1. How & where to report this issue?
